PLA Modernization and Taiwan National Defense Policy
Andrew Yang is the deputy minister for policy at the Ministry of National Defense, ROC (Taiwan). Prior to his appointment as deputy minister, he was the secretary general of the Chinese Council of Advanced Policy Studies, a leading Taiwanese think tank. Mr. Yang was an assistant professor in the general studies program at the National Sun Yat-sen University and a lecturer at the senior strategic studies, organized by the Ministry of National Defense. He has served as an advisor to the Ministry of National Defense for the Defense Report, the Mainland Affairs Council, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was also head of International Collaboration and Exchange at the National Sun Yat-sen University. He holds a BA in sociology from Fu Jen University, an MA in industrial sociology from the University of Reading, and MSc degrees in economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science at the University of London.
