The burst of pent-up demand that followed the reopening from Covid containment evaporated by April\, and sales deteriorated until tentatively stabilizing in August. Rosealea assesses the outlook for the property sector and risks for developers going forward\, as well as the policy response and what it means for real estate as a growth driver in the years to come. \n\n\n\nRosealea Yao is a senior analyst in the Beijing office of Gavekal Dragonomics and has been with the firm since 2007. She is a specialist on the Chinese property market\, and also works on energy\, infrastructure and other issues related to the investment side of the economy. Before joining Gavekal\, she worked at the Chinese Institute of CPAs in Beijing.
