James L. Zainaldin received his Ph.D. in Classical Philosophy from Harvard University in 2020 and took up a position as Lecturer on the Classics at Harvard in the same year. His work focuses on the scientific, technical, and philosophical traditions of Greek and especially Roman antiquity. He also has strong interests in the corresponding traditions of ancient and medieval China, and Greece-Rome/China comparative studies form an increasingly important part of his research activity. Finally, he maintains a long-standing interest in the study of the Western Classics in modern China, and in recent years has made several extended stays in China and Taiwan for teaching and research.
