Professor Lu received her masters degree (in Landscape Architecture) from University of Pennsylvania and her doctor degree (Doctor of Design) from Harvard University. She is LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional) certificated since 2009. Her fields of research specialization include environmental planning, marine and coastal management, and port city development. She was awarded the ASLA professional excellence in Analysis and Planning Category (2011), and the commendation prize in the Next Generation Container Port (NGCP) Challenge in Singapore (2013). Her research topic at Harvard University as the TUSA scholar is “Resilient Coastal Cities – Challenges, Implementation, and Prospects”.
