Isabel McWilliams (米筱茵) is a Ph.D. candidate in the History of Art and Architecture, and holds a BA in art history and Chinese from Middlebury College. Her research focus is medieval Chinese art. Her dissertation investigates the philosophical underpinnings of the imagery related to spell text forms of the bodhisattva Avalokitesvara in 8th-century Buddhist sites. She co-founded the Collective on the Study of Gender, Religion, and the Arts of Asia.
