Yi-yang Cheng is a Ph.D. candidate in Linguistics at UC Santa Barbara, where he conducts research on the Austronesian languages of Taiwan (also known as Formosan languages). His current project examines voice constructions in Kanakanavu, a critically endangered indigenous language spoken in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
