Yi Yang (楊翊) is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations. Broadly interested in the history of middle-period China, Yi is particularly interested in the Song political and intellectual history, with a focus on international relations and the history of scholarship. His dissertation project on Song historiography investigates the development of new genres, practices, and ideas reflected in source verification endeavors, historical commentaries and criticisms, and the emergence of event-based historical narratives.
