Charlotte graduated from Yale University in 2018 with a B.A. in East Asian Studies focusing on Modern Chinese history. Having been adopted from China at five months old, she has long been interested in Chinese language, culture, society, and history, and she has been back to China in multiple capacities, including leading volunteer trips for adopted youth and participating in intensive Mandarin language programs. She is also the founder and current co-president of China’s Children International, an international support, networking, and community organization that aims to connect and empower Chinese adoptees from around the globe. During her free time, Charlotte enjoys volunteering with children and animals, reading mystery novels, watching Chinese and Japanese films, taking modern and jazz dance classes, and spending time with her rescue-dog, Maggie. She is thrilled to join the Fairbank Center team and to support its work of promoting a deeper understanding of China through her position at the library.
