Fangdai Chen works on Chinese/Sinophone literary modernism and the avant-garde in the Asia-Euro transcultural context. Her dissertation examines the artistic and political significance of Chinese-Sinophone literary avant-garde practices in dialogue with their Anglo-European counterparts from the early twentieth century to the present.
