Nurlan Kenzheakhmet is a Professor at the Eurasian Research Institute. His research focuses on archaeology and the history of Central Asia. At the Fairbank Center, he works on European-Chinese imperial maps and gazetteers related to the Qazaq Khanate and its adjacent regions in the 17th to 19th centuries.
