Sexual and Gender-based Harassment Policy

We are committed to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our community

The Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies, Harvard University is unambiguously committed to maintaining a safe and healthy educational and work environment in which no member of our community is, on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity, excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or subjected to discrimination in any University program or activity. Harvard University policies and procedures concerning sexual harassment and gender inclusion are based on Title IX laws and regulations.

As a research center within the broader university, we are committed to fostering an atmosphere of safe, healthy, and robust engagement with each other as teachers, students, and colleagues. We will continue working to sustain an environment in which we can all do our best work and strive to fulfill our full potential.

If you have any concerns, or if you have suggestions on ways in which we can better promote such an environment, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We can help you connect with FAS Title IX Resource Coordinators and other Harvard resources such as the Office for Gender Equity (OGE) which offers various supports including confidential counseling to all members in our community.

We strongly encourage our Fairbank Center affiliates to attend trainings to become familiar with Harvard’s policies, procedures, and available resources. The Office for Gender Equity (OGE) provides interactive training workshops and online e-learning resources that are open to all Harvard community members.
