Guanchi Zhang

Guanchi Zhang is an S.J.D (Doctor of Juridical Science) candidate at Harvard Law School. Working at the intersection of law, urban studies, and political economy, he employs mixed methods to investigate how critical urban institutions produce growth and inequality in contemporary cities.

Guanchi has two major research themes. The first theme focuses on community power and urban land development, and the second one investigates the interactions between the city and the political economy of space. The geographical focus of his research includes China, the U.S., and East Asia.
