Yulu Tang is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Economics at Harvard. Her dissertation projects explore the welfare of migrant workers by focusing on migrant food delivery workers in China. She studies why migrant workers cluster spatially with same-origin peers and what are the benefits and costs of such behaviors. She has spent the summer of 2023 in China conducting focus group discussions and surveys with food delivery workers in several big cities, including Shanghai, Beijing and Hangzhou.
