On Friday, September 27, the former President of the Republic of China (Taiwan), MA Ying-jeou, SJD ’81, visited the Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies while on campus to attend a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the LL.M. program at Harvard Law School. Before a group of faculty, students, and affiliates of the Fairbank Center, President Ma shared his views on cross-strait relations, including factors that have contributed to rising tensions across the two sides of the Taiwan Strait. He also offered his recommendations for steps to be taken to enhance stability and peace across the strait.
