Our public lectures and events are open to all and many are available to watch online. Our twelve lecture series cover the full range of our research, from our Critical Issues Confronting China series on contemporary politics, to our China Humanities seminar on topics ranging from China’s earliest dynasties to today. Visit the Center and the Fung Library
In non-Covid times, the Fairbank Center is open Monday-Friday from 9AM to 5pm. Following current university health guidelines, the Center will be open but staff will be working both from the Center and remotely. Please email in advance if you wish to meet with a staff member.
H.C. Fung Library
The Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies Collection at the H.C. Fung Library is open to Harvard ID holders. The Library also offers stacks access to external students and researchers who present an official form of ID. Other Harvard libraries and archives are open to current Harvard students, faculty, staff, and library card holders with active borrowing and access cards. The Fung Library is usually open 9am – 8pm Monday through Thursday, 9am – 5pm on Fridays, and 12pm – 5pm on Sundays. The Fung Library is closed on Sundays. Media Access to Harvard
Photographers and videographers must request a permit from Harvard Public Affairs and Communications to film or photograph the campus.
