Daniel Koss, Associate Senior Lecturer, is working on the Chinese Communist Party’s growing role in the financial sector, with two recent publications on this topic: Read his analysis here.

His article “Discipline Inspections and the Transformation of Party Authority in China’s Banks,” was published by China: an International Journal“Economic Governance in Xi Jinping’s ‘New Era’: New Vectors of Party Influence in China’s Financial Sector” was published as a Background Brief by the East Asian Institute of the National University of Singapore.

Wai-yee Li, 1879 Professor of Chinese Literature, co-edited A Topsy-Turvy World: Short Plays and Farces from the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Martin King Whyte, John Zwaanstra Professor of International Studies and Sociology, Emeritus, published “Be Careful What You Wish For: China Confronts Population Decline,” in China-U.S. Focus.  

Winnie Yip, Professor of the Practice of Global Health Policy and Economics in the Health Systems Group of the T.H. Chan School of Public Health, coauthored “Understanding Impacts of Online Dual Practice on Health System Performance: A Qualitative Study in China” in Health Systems & Reform.

2023 Visiting Scholar Seong-Hyon Lee published “U.S. Semiconductor Policy and South Korea: A Delicate Balancing Act between National Priorities and International Collaboration,” in the National Bureau of Asian Research’s Asia Policy.

2023 Visiting Scholar Saul Wilson, Assistant Professor of Political Science at Ashoka University, published “The Making of the Landless Landlord Peasant: Government Policy and the Development of Villages-in-the-City in Shanghai and Guangzhou” in the University of Chicago’s China Journal.
