Bio
Fusheng Luo is a historian of late imperial and modern China, with research interests in trade, diplomacy, comparative legal cultures, U.S.-China relations, and East Asia in the world. He is working on a book about the formation of property rights and how land disputes were resolved in the semi-colonial settings of Shanghai and Guangzhou between 1840 and 1937. Luo received his Ph.D. in history from the University of Michigan in 2022.
