Julia Famularo

Bio
Julia Famularo has worked extensively on Taiwan, ethnographic Tibet, East Turkestan, and Hong Kong. Her current research project focuses on whole-of-society resiliency in Taiwan, with an emphasis on Taiwan’s government-sponsored “alternative civilian service” program. Famularo earned her PhD in modern Asian political history at Georgetown University, where she also served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Georgetown Journal of International Affairs.
Famularo earned an M.A. in East Asian Studies from Columbia University and a B.A. in East Asian Studies and Spanish Literature from Haverford College. She previously served as an International Security Studies Predoctoral Fellow at Yale University.
