Bio
Lingang Zhou (周林剛) is Associate Professor in the School of Politics and International Affairs at East China Normal University. His research examines legal philosophy, public law, and political ideas. His current project is focused on interpreting the history of the P.R.C.’s constitution as an unfinished founding moment. It begins with the assumption that the new regime established in 1949 anchored its legitimacy in a historical promise: that it would create conditions enabling the Chinese people to freely make a constitution of their own.
Research Interests: Chinese constitution; early modern Western political thought
