Bio

Shane Lin is an Assistant Research Fellow at the Institute of Political Science at Academia Sinica (Taiwan). He was a Fulbright Fellow and a Hou Family Fellow at Harvard University’s Fairbank Center. Dr. Lin earned his PhD in Politics from the University of Virginia in 2022.

Dr. Lin’s research delves into the role of information and technology in international security, specifically their impacts on the onset, duration, and resolution of foreign policy crises. Additionally, he explores U.S.-Taiwan-China relations through analysis of survey, experimental, and archival data.

Research Interests: Cross-Strait Relations, U.S.-Taiwan-China relations, International Security, Public Opinion, Social Media, U.S. Foreign Policy, Chinese Foreign Policy, and Survey Experiments
