Yedong Sh-Chen (陳也東) is a Ph.D. Candidate in the EALC Department at Harvard University. His dissertation maps the genesis and evolution of digital gaming in greater China since the 1970s, addressing key theoretical issues including world-building, artificial affect, AI ethics, and the politics of play, pleasure, and gender. He is also researching the long-neglected contributions of East Asian countries to the invention of computer graphics. 

Research interests: Media technology; history of computing; Chinese film and media culture in the 20th and 21st Centuries
