Fairbank Center Student Grants for China and Taiwan Studies, 2023-2024

The first deadline for undergraduate Winter Term student grants and graduate students Taiwan Studies grants is October 30!

Are you considering doing work in China or Taiwan during the Winter Term break or the Spring 2024 semester? If your answer is “yes,” you may want to apply for one of our grants. We provide grants for Harvard University undergraduates and graduates from any school to support a range of activities for those engaged in the study of greater China, including Taiwan:

  • Winter Term Grants
    For undergraduates planning to participate in a language program or independent research project during winter break (December-January). Apply by October 30, 2023
  • Taiwan Studies Grants
    For undergraduates and graduate students planning to pursue research, language study, or other academic activities in Taiwan during winter break or during the Spring semester. Apply by October 30 for Taiwan study during winter break (graduate students only). Apply by December 5 for Taiwan Study during Spring semester.
  • Term-Time Travel Grants
    Co-funded by the Harvard China Fund. For graduate students only who plan to conduct research in China during the Spring semester. Apply by December 5, 2023
